In order for as many members as possible to enjoy our Club, there must be some limits on the actions of our members and their guests. The Board of Directors believes that a Club such as ours should have as few rules as possible, while still insuring that the rights of each member to enjoy the Club are preserved. These rules are intended to protect the integrity of the Clifton Club and your cooperation in observing them is essential to the well being of the Club and its members. 1. The days and hours of operation shall be posted monthly in the Club, on the bulletin board and sent to each member’s residence in the monthly information package. 2. All meals served to members and guests shall, whenever possible, be made by reservation, made at a reasonable time in advance, thereby giving due consideration to the facilities of the Club and to the number and nature of the meals to be served. Same day reservations should be made at least three hours prior to expected service. 3. All orders for service or use of the facilities shall be documented by vouchers signed by members or authorized guests. The charges for which shall be billed monthly. 4. Each member is required to incur Club billings for beverage or prepared food service with a minimum of $50.00 per month. 5. No member or guest shall give, under any pretense whatsoever, money or other gratuity to anyone in the service of the Club. Voluntary contributions to the Employee Fund will be solicited annually by the Club. Alternatively, members may request that a gratuity be added to their monthly statements. 6. When arrangements are made by a member, for use of any of the Club’s facilities by an outside group or organization, a service charge of 30% of the gross amount charged to such member shall be added to the bill. 7. Requests by members for reservations that conflict with requests or reservations by other members, or conflict with activities or commitments of the Club, or overtax the facilities of the Club shall be resolved by the General Manager of the Club. 8. The Club reserves the right to cancel events or services due to weather or lack of adequate participation by members to support the event. 9. The exclusive use of all or any part of the Club facilities or premises for a private party of a member or by an outside group or organization, for any purpose, must have the approval of the General Manager of the Club and must be sponsored by a member in good standing. The Club member shall be responsible to the Club for all indebtedness incurred and all damage caused, if any, by such group or organization. 10. Men should wear coats when using the main dining room or formal lounge. Dress for use of the Pub and lower lounge may be casual. For special events, the dress code may be modified. During the summer months, the dress code in the main dining room and the lounge is relaxed. Blue jeans are allowed in the Pub area only. 11. The Club will not be responsible for any loss of or any damage to property of members or guests in the Club. 12. No dogs or other animals shall be allowed in the Club or on the Club grounds. 13. No person shall use, or take from the Club, any property belonging to the Club except as authorized by the General Manager of the Club. 14. No subscriptions or petitions shall be circulated, or any article exposed for sale, or any poster, notice or advertising matter be displayed in the Club without prior permission of the General Manager of the Club. The Club roster shall not be used by any member for solicitation or advertising by mail. 15. Members are requested to forward suggestions, complaints or compliments, in writing, to the General Manager of the Club on any matter seeming to need consideration. 16. In addition to the House Rules, the Club is governed by a Code of Regulations and a set of Bylaws. You may obtain a copy of these documents by contacting the Club office. 17. Fees and Dues. All fees, including initiation fees, annual dues, and “intra-family” transfer fees are determined by the Board of Directors. 18. Member Accounts. Annual dues and all charges for sales and services furnished to a Member, family members and guests are placed on the Member’s account. The Board of Directors may limit or suspend the credit of any Member whose account is in arrears. A late payment charge may be added to those accounting arrears. Any Member whose account is in arrears, including a Member whose dues have not been paid by January 1, may also be disciplined by suspension or expulsion by action of the Board of Directors. Names of persons whose accounts sic more than 90 days in arrears will be posted in the Club. 19. Monitoring of Rules. All Officers, Directors, Committee Members and the General Manager of the Club are designated as Monitors for the purpose of noting and enforcing the Club rules. All members are urged to join with the Monitors in calling attention to and reporting violations. 20. Enforcement Procedures. A violation should be called to the attention of the violator as soon as observed so that the infraction can be corrected immediately. The Board of Directors is authorized to determine the appropriate disciplinary action, such as a written warning, suspension of Club privileges or termination of membership without reimbursement of dues. 21. Guests. Members are responsible for their guests and must be certain that their guests understand and obey the Club rules. 22. Smoking. Effective July 1, 2005, smoking is prohibited at all times within the Club facility, except for special events. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor areas only. 23. Access. No unauthorized person may enter the kitchen or other work areas at any time. If there is an issue, please contact the General Manager of the Club. 24. Children. Members are responsible for the conduct of their children or grandchildren. Children are not allowed to sit at the bar at any time, per Ohio Law. However, children may be present in the Pub area and sit at the tables. 25. Charges and Gratuities. Members are responsible for the charges incurred by members of their family and by their guests. No cash is accepted at the Club. All charge slips must be signed by the Member or the guest of a Member along with a notation of the Member’s name. Billing is made only to Members. 26. Personal Behavior. Loud or profane language and abusive or boisterous behavior are not acceptable at the Club and will not be tolerated. |
